Women in Engineering

Agnes Molnar – Engineering Leader and Advocate for Diversity

From a young age, Agnes demonstrated a natural talent for technical problem-solving, setting the foundation for a successful career in engineering. Her journey began at a vocational technical school, leading to a degree in Power Network Construction Engineering. Along the way, she drew inspiration from mentors who recognized her determination and guided her leadership style.

Throughout her career, Agnes has tackled societal and professional challenges with resilience. As one of the few women in her field 30 years ago, she faced skepticism and bias but overcame them by proving her expertise and delivering results. Today, she is proud to have managed large-scale projects, including the restoration of Hungary’s iconic bridges, and now oversees technical documentation for insulation production, finding fulfillment in solving complex problems.

Agnes believes that diversity in engineering brings fresh perspectives and fuels innovation. Women’s unique approaches challenge norms and contribute to more efficient solutions. Her advice to aspiring women engineers is clear: earn recognition through determination and well-founded knowledge.

Outside of work, she finds balance and relaxation in her passion for racing greyhound dogs, which mirrors the discipline and focus she brings to her career. As social attitudes evolve, she sees exciting opportunities for women to thrive in engineering, encouraging them to pursue careers aligned with their interests. For her, the most rewarding aspect of her journey remains solving problems that drive progress while honoring the mentors and colleagues who shaped her path.
